Pokémon GO's Season of Light keeps bringing us new content with the launch of its upcoming Test Your Mettle event. As trainers set their sights on the event's rewards and anticipate the exciting array of new steel-typed Pokémon debuting into the game, it is the perfect time to start getting ready for the Field Research.
This celebration of steel-typed Pokémon begins on Friday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. local time. This event will have players take their Curveball throwing skills from the Psyche Spectacular's timed and field research tasks earlier this month, into catching some unique steel-typed Pokémon. Though the tasks for the Test Your Mettle have not yet been revealed, read on to see the encounters trainers will face for completing Field Research Tasks.

- Drilbur
- Nosepass
- Ferroseed
- Togedemaru
- Beldum
If lucky, amongst these steel-typed Pokémon, trainers will have the opportunity in encountering Magnemite, Pineco, Nosepass, Ferroseed, and Beldum in their shiny forms.
Addtionally, completing certain Field Research tasks will earn Mega Energy for Steelix and Scizor. Mega Energy can be used to unlock these Pokémon's fullest potential through their Mega forms in battle.
