It looks like the preview of "smart" lootbins provided by credible dataminer Shrugtal (@Shrugtal) has been confirmed.
On April 1, 2022, credible dataminer Shrugtal revealed the existence of "smart" lootbins added to Apex Legends. According to them, these lootbins are programmed to give players exactly what they need based on their current loadout and items. Several assumed this was an April Fool's joke â â a feature too good to be true â â until it was corroborated by another notable dataminer KralRindo (@KralRindo).
"Smart" Lootbins are coming to Apex Legends
KralRindo explained that the boxes were added into the game's files with the then-previous patch. Now, with the reveal of the Unshackled teasers on Storm Point, the boxes have once again been confirmed thanks to a cameo in the Command Center monitor screens.
In a tweet published to there Twitter account on Tuesday, April 19, KralRindo published three screencaps showcasing the different monitors and what was on them. In one of the screens, the smart lootbin is clearly visible, confirming that it was likely headed to the live game at some point.
This would be a massive boon to players, removing some of the RNG that comes with claiming loot that litters the battlefield. Instead of opening a crate and hoping to find useful gear, players will have faith that they are being rewarded with exactly what they need to succeed.
DBLTAP cannot confirm a release date for these bins at the time of writing. However, due to their recent tease, it's possible players might see them before the end of this season.
