A new trick has been recently discovered for Mirage mains in Apex Legends.
A TikTok went viral from the account, mblohr, who showed off the hack to his friend. Though it is fairly easy, it does require some prior knowledge of the mechanics of the character.
Players are able to unlock Mirage for either 12,000 Legend Tokens are 750 Apex Coins. He is an offensive Legend, putting him in the same class as Wraith, Bangalore, Octane, Revenant, Horizon, and Fuse. The trick is used to get some extra safety when crafting items.
In Apex Legends, Mirage's abilities render him a good asset to any team. His ability, Psyche Out, is used to deploy holographic clones in battle. Each holograph has 45 HP and a fast 15-second cooldown. They are effective distractions and bait for enemies as they are able to imitate any number of actions of the host: walking, running, strafing, jumping, sliding, and, it turns out, crafting.
For players with a good handle on the Holographic Trickster, this new trick will come naturally. To begin, players must set a decoy near a Replicator. Replicators are stations scattered throughout the map that allow players to turn collected materials into loot.
As the clone is in position, players need to go to another side of the Replicator, press the key they use to control the decoy’s movement, and start crafting. Then as players craft, the clone will mimic the player's actions, making enemies confused as to who the real target is. This allows players to craft safely with an extra line of protection.
