Diablo Immortal Multiplayer: How to Play Co-Op

After initially being announced in November 2018, Diablo Immortal is set to release this week in Open Beta.

For those looking to play with friends and party up in the free-to-play, MMO action RPG right when the virtual gates to Hell open, here's a breakdown of how to play co-op multiplayer in Diablo Immortal.

Diablo Immortal Multiplayer: How to Play Co-Op

There are three ways to play co-op multiplayer in Diablo Immortal.

The first is by forming a Proximity Party. This is the simplest option as all players need to do is go up to another player standing nearby, say at the entrance to one of the game’s dungeons, and invite them or request to join them if they have an established party.

For partying with a small group, players can form Warbands. Warbands can hold up to eight players, and playing in them will yield even greater rewards than regular co-op. This makes them ideal for working together towards a common goal such as clearing a particular dungeon.

In a Warband, only the creator of the group can recruit other players. Members, however, can still have a say in how they want things to go in the group through the message board feature.

To unlock the ability to engage in Warbands, players will first have to make their way to the Westmarch zone. There, they'll be able to speak to an NPC to get access to the Warband camp, where players can invite and coordinate with one another.

Lastly, players can engage in full-scale Clans. Clans can host up to 100 players at once. Like in other MMORPGs, Clan members in Diablo Immortal can work together to escalate the group's status in the world, as well as unlock Clan Achievements.

Players can apply to join a Clan by clicking the drop-down menu on the top left corner of the screen and clicking Clans. Players can also create their own Clans and invite others, though it costs using 100,000 gold to get started.

Ultimately, aside from co-op campaign, players can also team up with their friends to go against other players in PvP matches.

Diablo Immortal is set to release in Open Beta for iOS, Android and Windows PC (via Battle.net) on June 2, 2022.
