Diablo Immortal Shadow War Explained

In Diablo Immortal, players join factions and fight amongst themselves and across factions in their clans, vying to become the Immortal Clan and the most powerful group on the server. As a part of the process for selecting and becoming the Immortal Clan, the Shadow War helps determine who is worthy to take on the current Immortals with the prize of dethroning them on the line. Here is everything you need to know about the Shadow War in Diablo Immortal.

Diablo Immortal Shadow War Explained

Taking place between main series games Diablo II and Diablo III, Diablo Immortal is a mobile MMORPG that revolves around grabbing ever improving character loot, joining up with a clan, and competing for server-wide dominance in Clan vs. Clan events.

One of those Clan vs Clan events is the Shadow War. The Shadow War is an event exclusive to the Shadows Faction. Shadows players will compete and fight each other throughout a week-long event, with the top ten clans finishing the event becoming Dark Clans, and moving on the Cycle of Strife. In the Cycle of Strife, the Dark Clans have the opportunity to defeat the current Immortals by invoking the Rite of Exile, and if they do so, they will become the server's new Immortals, and much of the event progress will reset across the server.

While Diablo Immortal has received heavy criticism for some of its design choices (both in its monetization and mechanical designs) it's still boasting a fairly involved player base for now.
