Players logging into Overwatch 2 have discovered that Mei seems to be unavailable. Here's what you need to know.
Mei, a weather-altering Damage hero in Overwatch and Overwatch 2 is a popular hero for slowing down enemies with the use of ice abilities. Equipped with the Endothermic Blaster as her primary weapon, her effectiveness shines in 1v1 fights, but can quickly encase herself in an ice shield to heal and negate damage when overwhelmed, thanks to her Cryo-Freeze ability.
As a popular hero, her absence has been quickly noticed within the community as many have found themselves unable to play as the freezing hero. It seems that a pesky bug is to blame for her absence this time around.
How to Unlock Mei Again in Overwatch 2
Yesterday, Oct. 31, Blizzard announced that they would be temporarily disabling Mei to address a bug with her Ice Wall ability. The bug in question allowed other heroes to reach unintended locations when Ice Wall was used in conjunction with their abilities.
In a blog post, Blizzard said, "We are working to address these issues as quickly as possible and aim to bring Mei back in our next upcoming patch."
The patch is currently slated for Nov. 15, meaning players will be without Mei up until that date at the earliest. On or after Nov. 15, players will be able to unlock Mei and use her in-game once again.
