To unlock Ash Williams (Ash vs. Evil Dead), players simply need to complete the first mission in the single-player Missions mode, "If you love someone, set them free⦠With a chainsaw."
Missions are pretty straightforward, short side experiences that take players through the world of Evil Dead: The Game, reliving memorable moments from the movies, learning more about gameplay mechanics and most importantly, unlocking characters, outfits and lore sound tapes.
In this one, players will step into the role of Evil Dead 2Â Ash, reenacting some of the events from the movie, including finding Linda's necklace, digging up her possessed head and banishing the demon that still possesses her.
Once players complete this 20-25 minute mission, they will unlock Ash Williams from Ash vs. The Evil Dead in their collection of playable characters for all of the other modes.
Aside from the three other Ash Williams variants players can play as in Evil Dead: The Game â Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness â the Ash vs. Evil Dead version is the lone one that is classified as a Leader. With his El Jefe ability, Ash Williams (Ash vs. Evil Dead) emits an aura that reduces the incoming damage and fear of all in-range survivors.
