League of Legends Patch 12.8: 5 Biggest Changes

Players are looking to find out the five biggest changes in League of Legends Patch 12.8.

With the Mid-Season Invitational 2022 being played on Patch 12.8, the changes in this patch will make a significant difference in the event. In fact, the last two patches have been focused on the pro-scene, making changes that will impact the event.

With that in mind, here is a list of the five biggest changes in Patch 12.8.

League of Legends Patch 12.8: 5 Biggest Changes

1. Swain Mid-Scope Update

Swain got a major update this time around. More specifically, Riot's goal was to revive the champion as a whole. With mana buffs across all his abilities, changes to his crowd control capabilities, and longer-lasting Demonic Ascension (R), he is terrifying more than ever before.

2. Kai'Sa Update

Next on our list is the Kai'Sa update. The daughter of the void has been dominating both Summoner's Rift and Howling Abyss lately, mostly due to her AP damage on her Void Seeker (W). Riot Games is attempting to move her away from this pattern. Instead, they adjusted her to play more around single pops of her passive.

3. Stopwatch Changes

The Stopwatch, an item many deemed to be too strong, has been changed. The Stopwatch can no longer be purchased if gamers already own Guardian Angel or Zhonya's Hourglass.

4. Champion Buffs

Patch 12.8 brought about many champion buffs. In total, 14 champions were buffed. These include Bard, Ezreal, Fiddlesticks, Kassadin, Jhin, Mordekaiser, Poppy, Sejuani, Sylas, Tristana, Vel'Koz, Vladimir, Xerath, and Zoe. It'll be interesting to see how this affects both MSI 2022 and regular players.

5. Champion Nerfs

While there were a ton of champion buffs, only three were nerfed: Jinx, Soraka, and Xayah. This came as a disappointment to many as they felt that certain champions, such as Jhin or Mordekaiser, also needed nerfs instead of buffs.
