In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, it seems one of the new Field Upgrades will be bringing back the utility of a certain questionably balanced Perk from the original MW2 from 2009 — One Man Army.

As just about all who played the original MW2 can likely attest, the One Man Army Perk felt broken as it gave players the ability to infinitely change their classes midlife simply at the expense of giving up their secondary weapon slot. This meant that you could infinitely restock your ammo and equipment, and had the ability change to different Perks whenever you pleased.

Now, it appears that type of utility may be coming back to Call of Duty about 13 years later.

As revealed in Activision's Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer overview dev blog, the game will have a new Field Upgrade called the Loadout Drop. When used, the Loadout Drop will function about exactly as it has in Warzone, with each player on the same team as the person who called it in being able to use it once and change their class.

Ideal for swapping Loadouts midlife, getting an extra Primary Weapon without burning a Basic Perk for Overkill, or just being kind to Operators. Great in Ground War when Operators are expected to live longer lives and switch roles as the situation demands.Activision

Essentially, this does bring back that element that One Man Army brought to the table back in the day. However, since the Loadout Drop is a Field Upgrade — meaning it will often be on recharge throughout the match — it seems this strategy should be more balanced this time around.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is set to release worldwide on Oct. 28.
