What is Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour?
Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour is a feature that takes place almost every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., local time. All Spotlight Hours for a specific month are announced by Niantic Labs the week before. These can be found by visiting the official Pokemon GO news blog or by checking in on trusted news sources.
Each Spotlight Hour features a different Pokemon from the last and typically comes with a passive bonus such as extra XP or candies.
Who is the Next Spotlight Hour Pokemon?
Nidoran (F) is the next Spotlight Hour Pokémon — taking over the feature on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
Nidoran (F) is the Poison Pin Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is related to the Nidoran (M) line and can produce Eggs that contain either Nidoran (F) or Nidoran (M). Its PokeDex number is #029.
It evolves into Nidorina using 25 candies, and Nidoqueen with 100 candies.
Nidorina and Nidoqueen follow suit with their pre-evolved form, featuring large, spiny ears, red eyes and two white claws.
Trainers who participate in this Spotlight will earn Double Catch XP.
Can Nidoran (F) be Shiny?
Yes, Nidoran (F) can be Shiny, which means that its evolutions — Nidorina and Nidoqueen — can also be as well.
Is Nidoran (F) Spotlight Hour Worth It?
Yes, participating in the Nidoran (F) Spotlight Hour is likely worth it as although Nidoran (F) by itself is far from the strongest pick in the meta, this is one of the few times that is perfect to stock up on Candy, evolve it into Nidorina and Nidoqueen, and go Shiny hunting in Pokemon GO.
We won’t begrudge those who choose to skip this one should they already have it in their Pokédex. This could always be a good way to farm Stardust, however.
