Genshin Impact is known for its large cast of beloved characters, all with their own unique designs and abilities. While most characters require players to spend their hard-earned Primogems on the luck-based Wishing system, other characters can be obtained for free by completing various tasks in the game. Here are all the free characters in Genshin Impact, and how to get them.
Which Genshin Impact Characters Are Free?
The first free characters players can obtain in Genshin Impact are Amber, Kaeya, and Lisa. All three of these characters are obtained automatically by progressing through the first few quests of the game when players first drop into Mondstadt. Amber (the 4-Star Pyro Bow user) can be obtained by completing the 'Wind-Riding Knight' quest, Kaeya (the 4-Star Cryo Sword user) can be obtained by completing the 'Crash Course' quest, and Lisa (the 4-Star Electro Catalyst user) is obtained by finishing the 'Sparks Amongst the Pages' quest.
Barbara, a 4-Star Hydro Catalyst user, is also given to the players for free. To get her, players must complete the 'Baptism of Song' event. The other character players can get for free is Xiangling, a 4-Star Pyro Polearm user who is granted to the player once they clear Floor 3, Chamber 3 of the Spiral Abyss. Doing this requires the player to have at least four units that are built enough to get at least six stars on the first two Floors of the Spiral Abyss.
Finally, there's the 4-Star Geo Claymore user Noelle, and the 4-Star Cryo Bow user Aloy. When players first pull in the 'Beginner's Wish' gacha banner, they are guaranteed to get Noelle. Aloy is the game's only collab character and was given to players for free in their Mailbox in a previous update. Currently, there is no way to get Aloy, however, she may be given to players who missed her in a later update.
