Players want to know where they can find the Ancient Nightmare during the Ancient Nightmare Zone event in Diablo Immortal.
Like many popular MMOs, Diablo Immortal has its own fair share of large, global, regional, and/or zone-wide events. Typically, they require going to a certain location and beating up a bad guy in a massive brawl that may or may not include other players. Obviously, these aren't easy and can be challenging for new or returning players looking to score some good gear. The rewards do tend to match the necessary effort, however, so players are encouraged to give them a try when they can.
Of course, they can't beat the boss if they don't know where the fight is.
Where to Find the Ancient Nightmare in Diablo Immortal
The Ancient Nightmare boss roams around Mount Zavain.
However, the fight against the Ancient Nightmare can only occur once every 2 hours so if players find themselves visiting between times, they may need to wait around a bit for it to begin. The first iteration kicks off at 8 a.m. and the last ends at midnight that same day. Therefore, the Ancient Nightmare event will occur nine times at the following hours:
- 8 a.m.
- 10 a.m.
- 12 p.m.
- 2 p.m.
- 4 p.m.
- 6 p.m.
- 8 p.m.
- 10 p.m.
- 12 a.m.
Additionally, they need to do a bit of prep work before they dive in.
How to Bring Down the Ancient Nightmare
The first part of the fight requires players to find Lord Martanos, who should be currently slumbering in his grave. Obviously, this means the first stop on the journey is Zakarum Graveyard. Martanos' gravesite is in the rectangular chamber adjacent to the Zakarum Graveyard Waypoint. Players can either visit that waypoint and swing back around or head up from the Misty Valley Waypoint.
After beating Lord Martanos, they should have a Zakarum Sigil. This item is crucial to the fight and should be acquired first. Some may want to pick up more than one â especially if they plan on soloing the Nightmare.
The actual Ancient Nightmare Boss can now be found at Mount Zavain and is typically roaming the Misty Valley.
This is a powerful arcane enemy who will often raise a shield that's difficult to break through. Don't worry â this is where those sigils come in. Around the fight, players will find altars that can be interacted with as long as they have a sigil. Once engaged, these altars will stun the Ancient Nightmare and essentially leave it helpless for a few moments. Don't waste this opportunity.
The Ancient Nightmare isn't the only boss on a timer. Players looking to bring down the Blood Rose boss should check out our timing guide to make sure they don't miss any action.
